Elena Calvaresi Designer

Ho iniziato la mia formazione come disegnatrice d'architettura all'Istituto d'arte di Siena. Ho proseguito i miei studi nella città di Firenze, prima alla Facoltà di Disegno Industriale dove ho conseguito la laurea in allestimento, poi presso l'Istituto Superiore per le Industrie Artistiche, dove ho terminato la mia formazione di designer con il diploma specialistico.

I started my training as an architectural designer at the Siena Art Institute. I continued my studies in the city of Florence, first at the Faculty of Industrial Design where I graduated in set-up and architecture installation, then at the Higher Institute for Artistic Industries, where I finished my training as a designer with a postgraduate diploma.

Durante gli anni di studio ho maturato l'attrazione verso tutti quegli oggetti segnati dal tempo o classificati come scarti e il desiderio di dargli una nuova vita mi hanno portato ad apprendere le tecniche di lavorazione del ferro e del legno.
Ho iniziato così la mia produzione upcycling e con le mani capaci di seguire il processo creativo, nel 2013 ho creato Oibò, luogo in cui raccogliere sogni, idee e nel quale coniugare l'attività artistica a quella di designer.

During the years of study I developed an attraction towards all those objects marked by the time or classified as waste and the desire to give them a new life, led me to learn the techniques of iron and wood working. This is how I started my upcycling production and with my hands capable to create and to realize the creative process, in 2013 I created Oibò, a place where it’s possible to collect dreams, ideas and to combine the artistic activity with that of a designer.
